Thatcher Brook Inn is a Victorian mansion of
grand style. Built in 1899 by lumber baron Stedman Wheeler, and
named after the brook flowing nearby.
Among the wood products of the Wheeler
lumber mills were creamery boxes used by local dairies and lumber
milled to order. Local builders and villagers utilized these
products in many of the buildings which are now considered the
historic buildings of Waterbury.
